Like Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set in the sprawling open world of Hyrule. The map is more vertical this time around, with several sky islands above the ground, and a new underground area known as The Depth's just waiting for you to explore.
Courtesy of the many survival elements and hard-to-reach places, going back and forth between locations can become tedious in Tears of the Kingdom. Thankfully, there is a fast travel system, but you won't get access to it immediately. As such, you're probably wondering how to unlock fast travel.
With that in mind, here's our guide explaining how to fast travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Fast travel is unlocked when you return to the Temple of Time in the Great Sky Island after clearing the Ukouh Shrine, In-Isa Shrine, Gutanbac Shrine and acquiring the three abilities.
Upon returning, talk to Rauru, and he will explain that you need to clear one more shrine (Nachoyah Shrine) to get powerful enough to open the back door of the Temple of Time. After this conversation, Rauru will grant you the ability to fast travel to the shrines you have explored in the game.
Do note: you can only fast-travel to shrines and not just anywhere on the map.
While it would have been better to have the option to fast travel anywhere, what is there is still a viable option that will save plenty of hours of backtracking in the kingdom of Hyrule. On the bright side, fast travel doesn't cost any resources.
That concludes our guide on how to fast travel in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
